How Chatless works

Chatless manages and cleans your ChatGPT and Claude history directly inside your browser. We do not run servers, accounts, analytics, or background services. Every search, tag, or deletion command executes locally on your device.

Data collection

• No chat content leaves your browser.
• No telemetry, crash reports, or usage analytics are sent to the Chatless team.
• No sign-in, email address, or personal identifiers are required.

Browser permissions

Chatless only requests the permissions needed to function:

• Read and change data on chat.openai.com and claude.ai — lets the extension display, search, and remove the chats you already opened.
• Storage — keeps your settings and tags in Chrome's local extension storage, never on remote servers.

You can adjust or revoke these permissions any time from chrome://extensions.

Deletion & control

When you delete chats through Chatless, the extension issues removal commands directly to ChatGPT or Claude. We do not intercept or store snapshots. Removing the extension or clearing Chrome's extension storage erases all Chatless data instantly.

If you export conversations, the files are created locally and remain on your device until you decide to share or delete them.
